Just to give you all an idea.....

of the insanity I live with and deal with on a daily basis, here is a text message I received from my housemate earlier today:

"Things I have learnt today: Don't boil an egg in the kettle if it is cracked, it will foam out of control and go everywhere. Don't then pour a bit of water out, think "it'll be fine now" then re-boil it to finish the egg, as it will foam out of control and go everywhere again and totally egg the kettle.Don't try and sort kettle post egg by boiling up 4 fizzy vitamin C tablets, thinking "this will sort egg and limescale" and when that goes inevitably disaterously wrong, don't try and fix it by boiling kettle with washing up liquid in it"

Words truly fail me.

yikes...

ok, i admit it. i didn't really want to comment on this post specifically, but more generally on the fact that you and i have really similar taste in music. weird coincidence: when i read your comment on my blog and then clicked over to your profile, i was listening to "concrete sky" by beth orton.

oh, and "cooling" is a fucking amazing song. :)

Hmm..."egg the kettle"...I'm going to start using that...and when did Mrs. Grouchbutt move in with you?

p/o - Yay, someone got the Cooling reference. Now, my old blog went by the title "I think I put my shirt on backwards". If you know that lyric, you're a friend for life.

Grouchy - Right after he fitted the new a/c with you :-)

Poppy, I'm very concerned that said flatmate thought that the continued boiling of various things after one boiling disaster was good.
This is very similar to the way that I will steer my pooch away from a pile of random poo he's sniffing but, two seconds later, he's forgotten he already sniffed (and was rebuffed) and moves for the poo again.
Basically, what I'm saying is, your roomie is a poo-pile-sniffing pug.

Boiling fizzy vitamin C tablets and an egg...

Do you just ask yourself, "Why?" most of the time?

All. The. Time.
